Le Mans will indeed be the finale of the 2019-2020 season

Since the officialization yesterday of postponement of the 24 2020 Hours of Le Mans, competitors and fans are asking many questions about the consequences on the calendars WEC 2019-2020 and 2020-2021, as well as that of theELMS 2020.

As we mentioned yesterday, although disrupted, the schedule for the European Le Mans Series should still feature a total of six rounds, it remains to be seen when and in what order.

Concerning the WEC, we have at least managed to clarify one point: the 88th edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans will indeed serve as the finale of the current campaign. We will therefore know, on the evening of September 20, the 2019-2020 world champions.

What we now need to know is whether there will be a race organized beforehand, whether the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps (event scheduled for April 25) will be postponed and not canceled. It seems that this is the intention of LMEM, the promoter of the world championship ofEndurance, which would ensure that at least one of the two races which suffered from the Coronavirus pandemic took place.

It remains to be seen when, with the Belgian circuit reportedly busy every weekend during the summer months, including two major international events requiring a lot of preparation: The 24 Hours of Spa (July 25-26) and the Belgian Grand Prix Formula 1 (August 30). The answer should come fairly quickly.
