Mailleux: Le Mans Test Day will be essential

Franck Mailleux and Natacha Gachnang remain on a good performance in ELMS since they managed to grab the last step of the podium at the end of the 3 Hours of Imola. But the Morand Racing team will have to take on a completely different challenge by competing on June 22 and 23 in the 24 Hours of Le Mans with the Morgan-Judd n°42 on which Olivier Lombard will also ride. The Swiss team will be in business this weekend by participating in the Test Day which will allow it to get a first idea of ​​its level in the peloton which will include no less than 22 LMP2s at the start of the 81st edition of the event mancelle.

“The month of June is very exciting for us drivers because all our efforts are focused on Le Mans, the undisputed highlight of the season”, comments Franck Mailleux who will be making his fifth start at the Sarthe double clock. “The first step in the long and careful preparation process is Test Day on Sunday. This will be our only opportunity to understand the car before the first free practice session and to observe our level in the hierarchy. It's always incredible preparation for this fantastic event which will be even more special for the 90th anniversary. We had a rather competitive start to the season with Morand Racing in ELMS with a podium at Imola. But the 24 Hours of Le Mans is an event that demands precision and reliability, as well as competitiveness and speed.
