Mecachrome will supply the engine for the Ginetta LM P1

After F1 (especially alongside Renault), or the GP2 and GP3 series, Mechachrome will be involved in the World ChampionshipEndurance. It is with Ginetta, who had recently announced that she was devoting herself to the development of an LM P1 chassis for the 2018 season, that the firm will join the world of WEC, via the supply of engines on behalf of the British manufacturer.

“Mecachrome is very excited to work with Ginetta on their LM P1 program, recognizes Bruno Engelric, motorsport manager at Mecachrome. Having spent time with the team in the UK and France, it is clear that we both have fantastic staff working on the project and we look forward to the future. »

“Both parties see the current landscape in LM P1 as a perfect opportunity to get involved in this project and we look forward to an exciting 2017.” » admits Ewan Baldry, technical director of Ginetta.

Ginetta quickly confirmed talks with Mecachrome upon the announcement of its LM P1 project. Xtrac is also well placed to work on the transmission of prototypes, ten examples of which should see the light of day for private teams.

If the CFD work is to begin soon, the manufacturer will organize an LM P1 presentation event next month.
