New drivers at Jackie Chan DC Racing

The changes made at the head of the Malaysian government did not do the business of Jackie Chan DC Racing, whose No. 37 Oreca lined up in WEC was financed by the country, officially the Sepang circuit. Thus, Jazeman Jaafar, Weiron Tan and Nabil Jeffri – currently third in the LM P2 standings, 20 points behind their teammates, first – see their adventure in the World Championship end there.Endurance.

Sad fate for a crew as surprising as it is friendly having scored four podiums including a victory at Fuji in five starts. The Chinese team incubated by Jota Sport finally found luxury replacements for them. To 1000 miles of Sebring (March 15) and at the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps (May 4), the 07 n°37 will be entrusted to the Englishman Jordan King, British champion F3 2013 and seen last year in IndyCar, to the Dane David Heinemeier-Hansson, LM P2 vice-champion in 2013, as well as to the Briton Will Stevens.

The latter being requisitioned by Panis-Barthez Compétition at 24 Hours of Le Mans, he should be replaced in Sarthe by the American Ricky Taylor, current driver of Acura Team Penske in IndyCar, for whom it would be the sixth start at the Le Mans classic. Jaafar, for his part, could find refuge in ELMS on the second Ligier JS P217 that Panis-Barthez Compétition is planning to enter.
