No break for Peugeot and the 9X8. After the rout of Sebring where he was damaged, the Lion had an appointment in the Var to prepare for the rest of the 2023 season of the WEC.
In the program ? A day of testing on the Paul-Ricard circuit with the 9X8 No. 93. This preparation work which extended into the night with night relays should allow Peugeot to repair certain errors seen at the opening of the season at Sebring in mid-March and above all to prepare for the 6 Hours of Portimão ( April 16).
If no information has yet filtered out, it would not be surprising if the French manufacturer made the expected modifications to the gearbox of its Hypercar, particularly in terms of the electric actuator which caused so many problems. According to Carlos Tavares, general manager of Stellantis, Peugeot has decided to move from electric to hydraulic control. A specificity which the 9X8s were not able to benefit from at Sebring, where they encountered problems, but which they hope to have at Portimão in a little over a fortnight.
