Prema reveals its WEC crews, with Daniil Kvyat

Prema has announced the drivers who will take part in the World Endurance Championship (WEC) this season, in LM P2. Two cars in which we will find Doriane Pin, but also Daniil Kvyat.

Prema reveals its WEC crews, with Daniil Kvyat

This season, there will be two Premas on track for the World Championship.Endurance (WEC). The Italian structure has revealed the crews which will represent it in 2023 in the LM P2 category. Two new line-ups for Prema which are preparing for the future, with the new collaboration between Iron Lynx (which is part of the same entity as Prema) and Lamborghini. The Sant'Agata Bolognese brand will make its Hypercar debut in 2024 with the Italian team. 

 

Consequently, we will find two Lamborghini factory drivers in LM P2 this season at Prema. Mirko Bortolotti will be present in the #63 car alongside Dorian Pin, announced at Prema at the beginning of January. “I am delighted to join Prema in the WEC this year. The team has shown itself to be competitive from the start of the championship, so the objective is to continue the good work this season as well as to prepare for the LMDh program” confided the Italian pilot.

Kvyat (finally) in Endurance with Prema

The third driver of the No. 63 crew will be Danill Kvyat. The Russian, ex-resident of Formula 1, should have participated in the 2022 WEC season with G-Drive before the Russian team withdrew, due to the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. “It is a very exciting part of my career to join Prema and compete together in the FIA ​​World Endurance Championship, rejoiced the ex-pilot Red Bull. The team is renowned for its previous successes, and now it is looking to conquer the world of Endurance as well. I am very excited to be part of it and I am very motivated to give my best to try to place us in the top places. »

The other Lamborghini driver will be entered in the #9 car part-time: Andrea Caldarelli will take part in the first round of the season at Sebring and will be Juan Manuel Correa's "luxury joker", announced at Prema in January, when the American pilot will be busy Formula 2

The No. 9 crew will be completed by a young duo: Filip Ugran, 20 years old, will move full-time to Endurance after having raced in Formula 4, in Formula 3 and in Euroformula Open. He will be accompanied by Bent Viscaal, 23, who completed his first season in Endurance in 2022, with a podium in ELMS at Castellet and a first participation in 24 Hours of Le Mans.

For Prema, the season will begin with a two-day collective test session at Sebring Raceway, followed by 1000 Miles of Sebring the 17 march.
