For a first, it really wasn't that bad! So much so that the Prema team, which not only discovered the world endurance championship (WEC) but also the discipline itself, set the best time on the first day of testing at Sebring thanks to its driver Robert Kubica (37 years old). A significant performance to say the least for the team entered in LMP2, especially given the results of the two favorites the next day, WRT and United Autosport, authors of the two best times of the day.

With the first race of the season fast approaching – March 18 for the 1000 Miles of Sebring – Robert Kubica and his traveling companions, Louis Delétraz and Lorenzo Colombo, discovered a prototype that was already almost competitive at Sebring. Not really a surprise given Prema's recognized work in recent years, but which already announces the team's ambitions for the coming season:

“We started by discovering the circuit, which is quite interesting and different from what we are used to in Europe, confided Robert Kubica following the Prologue. It's a very special circuit. We had a lot to do for ourselves as drivers, and also for the team.

These two days have been difficult in terms of the amount of work, and it won't get any easier in the weeks and months to come. We have to keep working, analyzing what we can improve, and hopefully we will be as well prepared as possible. I really appreciate the work that has been done so far. »

For Prema, accustomed to victories and podiums in the categories in which she has passed, these first two days of driving went without the slightest hitch. The Italian team, which employs two European championsEndurance, namely Kubica and Delétraz, are already moving forward with ambition for the discovery of this new category. But she will be able to count on her pair of experienced and complete drivers, enhanced by the enthusiasm of the young Lorenzo Colombo, to overshadow the favorites of the discipline. And why not create a surprise this weekend. In any case, it would be a hell of a performance.
