Sam Bird returns with Ferrari for Sebring and Le Mans

Deprived of WEC due to a clash of dates which no longer exists between the Sanya E-Prix and the 1000 miles of Sebring, Sam Bird nevertheless remains in the small papers of Ferrari.

The 33-year-old Briton – who defends the interests of Envision Virgin Racing in Formula E – will compete on June 13 and 14 for its fifth 24 Hours of Le Mans in GTE Pro with AF Corse, on the 488 GTE n°71. He will be associated, just as was the case during the last three editions, with the Spaniard Miguel Molina and the Italian Davide Rigon.

It should be noted that in preparation, Bird will also be taking part in the 100 miles of Sebring (March 20), as will Daniel Serra, who will lend a hand to Alessandro Pier Guidi-James Calado on the No. 51.

Unsurprisingly, on the latter, the winning trio of the 87th round of the Le Mans classic in GTE Pro was renewed, who also triumphed at Petit Le Mans last October, in the GTLM category.

Among the other official Ferrari GT Competizioni drivers, Olivier Beretta, Nicklas Nielsen and Giancarlo Fisichella will finish the 2019-2020 WEC campaign at the wheel of the car in which they have been driving since the beginning of September, namely respectively the 488 GTE n°70, n°83 and n°54. Three cars operated by AF Corse even if the first mentioned is registered under the MR Racing banner. Finally, it's a safe bet that Toni Vilander will be there at the wheel of a 488 GTE in WeatherTech colors in GTE Am.
