Sébastien Ogier: “We still lack performance”

First points in Endurance for Sébastien Ogier (Paulo Maria / DPPI)

How did your race go in these difficult conditions?

There are quite a few positives to take away. Particularly in terms of experience. We got to the end of this race, I was able to complete my first laps in the rain, and there was obviously a little apprehension to discover this. I managed to have a fairly interesting rhythm at times in these conditions. On the negative side, I could have avoided a few small mistakes, but without too big consequences, fortunately. It's good to have ticked this box in my learning before Le Mans, where we know that the chances of rain are real over 24 hours.

Do you feel ready for this next step?

More than before 1000 miles of Sebring In any case. My experience is still very limited after two races. Despite everything, we arrive at Le Mans with a little luggage that we will try to use. We have to remain realistic: we are not going to Le Mans to aim for victory in LM P2, especially with the level of this category. We scored our first points, it's going in the right direction, and it's up to us to try to continue in this one.

Is the outcome of this weekend more positive than at Sebring?

The position is a little better (12e LM P2 at Sebring. Editor’s note) and there is indeed a little more positive. But we have to remain realistic and we still lack performance. We must continue to work.
