Toyota dominates FP1 at Sebring

During the collective tests carried out on Saturday and Sunday ahead of the 1000 miles of Sebring, Mike conway had, in 1'41"152, unofficially beaten the record for the Florida track, owned by Sébastien Bourdais (Peugeot 908 HDi FAP) since 2009: 1'43 »274. But signed outside of an official session, it was not taken into account. This afternoon, during the first free practice session of the penultimate round of the WEC, the TS050 Hybrid n°8 of Alonso-Buemi-Nakajima completed a lap in 1'41"957, 0"549 better than the No. 7 driven by Conway-Kobayashi-Lopez. It remains to be seen what the new track record will be at the end of the week, probably set in qualifying tomorrow.

The Non-Hybrid LM P1s are relegated to 1”5, third place being occupied by the #1 Rebellion R-One of Beche-Jani-Senna, which precedes the #3 of Berthon-Laurent-Menezes and the two BR1- AER of SMP Racing.

In LM P2, Racing Team Nederland confirmed its good disposition, the No. 217 Dallara P29 of Van Eerd-Van der Garde-De Vries having risen to the top of the hierarchy, while sticking 0 »5 to theAlpine A470 of Stone-negrao-Thiriet, two cars fitted with Michelin. The top three is completed by the No. 07 Oreca 28 of TDS Racing driven by Duval-Perrodo-Vaxivière.

In GTE Pro, all manufacturers are grouped into 0"8, with the advantage going toAston Martin Vantage n°97 by Lynn-Martin (1’58”044). Followed at 0 »312 and 0 »533 the Ford n°67 of Bomarito-Priaulx-Tincknell and the Porsche 911 RSR n°91 from Bruni-Lietz. BMW, Ford and Corvette are respectively relegated to 0 »713, 0 »779 and… 0 »779.

Finally, in GTE Am, the No. 98 Aston Martin of Dalla Lana-Lamy-Lauda set the best time for the two Porsche 911 RSRs from Proton-Dempsey Racing.

The second free practice session is scheduled for 00:45 p.m. French time.
