It is therefore without Sébastien Ogier that the Richard Mille Racing Team presents itself at the 6 Hours of Monza. After the 1000 Miles of Sebring, the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps and the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the eight-time world rally champion has therefore decided not to finish the season with the French team. He will be replaced from this weekend by his compatriot Paul-Loup Chatin, winner on the same circuit last Sunday in the European Le Mans Series with IDEC Sport.

“Once again, we thank Sébastien Ogier for our adventure together and everything he brought to the team during the first half of the season, confides Philippe Sinault, Team Principal of the stable. This race at Monza is a new start, but we have laid a good foundation for the future with our strong performance at Le Mans. We want to continue this momentum, and the arrival of Paul-Loup is fantastic news in this regard. We know each other very well, he is a good driver, and his philosophy corresponds to the spirit of the project. This crew seems united, the team has progressed technically, and our ambition is to gain a few places in the standings! »

Unlike Paul-Loup Chatin and Charles Milesi, Lilou Wadoux will discover the Monza circuit in competition after having driven in tests: “I had the opportunity to discover Monza, and I quickly understood that this circuit lived up to its reputation. There are a few pitfalls to avoid, notably the rather aggressive edges for the prototypes, but I am lucky to have two experienced teammates. The change of teammate also made it possible to mold a new seat to be more comfortable in the car. It takes precision engineering to find the right compromise between the position of the pedals, the height of the seat, the thickness of the foam and the space necessary to avoid being pinned to the steering wheel. Every detail can be a plus to help us continue the momentum from Le Mans! »

The Richard Mille Racing Team hopes to move up the LM P2 hierarchy on Italian soil after its ninth place in class at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
