WEC – AF Corse reverses its crews for Bahrain

If Audi won the promotion WEC this year, many titles still remain to be awarded at the end of the 6 Hours of Bahrain contested this weekend. AF Corse will indeed play the World Endurance Cup reserved for GT drivers with Giancarlo Fisichella and Gianmaria Bruni who are among the six contenders who still mathematically have a chance. The Italian team therefore chose to modify its crews by placing Gianmaria Bruni with Toni Vilander on the Ferrari 458 Italia n°51 while Kamui Kobayashi will compete with Giancarlo Fisichella in the sister car no. 71.

By operating in this way, AF Corse seeks by all means to overcomeAston Martin which dominates the category. Darren Turner and Stefan Mücke are 5,5 points ahead of the Italians. The British manufacturer is also in the lead with 17,5 points ahead of the Prancing Horse while it is the team of the #97 Vantage which is at the top of the Teams ranking with 8,5 points ahead of the Italian stable. The Bahrain event will therefore offer an intense duel between the two teams.
