WEC – Team SARD Morand will aim for victory with the Morgans

The SARD Morand Team, the fruit ofan association between Team SARD and Morand Racing, will debut in WEC by aligning two Morgan V8 SARD with Christian Klien and Koki Saga on the No. 39 and Pierre Ragues with Oliver Webb on the No. 43. The Swiss-Japanese team will be the only one to enter two Morgans in LMP2 and will have a lot to do in a category regaining appeal this season with ten crews present.

“Given the developments approved on the 2015 version of the Morgan, I think we have every chance and I am also convinced that with the SARD engine, TEAM SARD Morand has a good package”, commented Benoît Morand, director of Morand Racing. “In addition, we have been using the Morgan chassis since the team?s arrival in LM P2 and it no longer holds any secrets for us. For SARD President Kato-San, its general manager Noda-San and myself, winning races is our goal in 2015.”

If the 6 Hours of Fuji (October 11) will be an important event for Team SARD which will compete on home soil, the crucial meeting of the season will obviously be the 24 Hours of Le Mans (June 13 and 14). Morand Racing took sixth place in LMP2 last year. “The competition will be more or less the same as in 2014, but this year, with the new developments of everyone, everything will certainly go even faster on the track and, as I said previously, the level will be even higher . We work just as hard as the others in all areas, with the ambition of a place on the podium”, concluded Benoît Morand.

The 2015 WEC season will begin on April 12 with the 6 Hours of Silverstone (Great Britain).
