WEC – Porsche leads testing in Austin

The Porsche still showing promising performances during the first practice sessions for the 6 Hours of the Circuit of the Americas. The #919 18 Hybrid was the fastest, Romain Dumas achieving a time of 1'47"231 in the first, while Timo Bernhard ranked 2 tenths off the reference time in the second.

The first Audi is more than 4 tenths behind with the No. 8 led by Lucas di Grassi. Sister car #7 driven by Benoît Tréluyer failed by more than a second. The first one Toyota is 3 seconds late.

This is the #2 Ligier JS P26 of G-Drive Racing driven by Sam bird which leads the LMP2 with a time of 1'55"874, ahead of the KCMG Oreca 4-Nissan driven by KCMG by 05 tenths. Nicolas lapierre. THE'Alpine A450b stands out by obtaining the 3rd time in the category with Paul Loup Chatin.

The GTE Pro is also dominated by Porsche, Frederic Makowiecki having achieved the benchmark in 2'06"041 on the 911 RSR n°92 to beat the pace by a tenth. Ferrari AF Corsica n°71 Davide rigon. No. 91 completes the top three with Richard Lietz. Victor Shaytar was the fastest GTE Am with a lap completed in 2'06"547 in the #72 SMP Racing Ferrari.

The last practice session will take place this Friday, September 18 at 17:30 p.m. The qualifications will be contested this Saturday.
