WEC – Porsche places Jean-Karl Vernay at Imsa

The crew of the 997 RSR Imsa Matmut performance in the world endurance championship (WEC) 2013 affiche désormais complet. “IMSA Performance Matmut is very pleased to welcome into its ranks a new young talent from the Porsche Matmut Carrera Cup sector, underlines team manager Franck Rava. The whole team is very motivated to help him flourish at the wheel of the 997 RSR in the company of two drivers who already know the car perfectly. » And boss Raymond Narac added: “Jean-Karl already knows the 997 in its cup version very well. He is fast, intelligent, and makes very few mistakes. He adapted very quickly to all the disciplines in which he raced, his track record proves it. He?s a great recruit for the team, I can't wait to start working with him. »

And in endurance, the 25-year-old Frenchman is not at his trial run. Reservist Peugeot Sport in 2011, he distinguished himself the same year at Signatech-Nissan by scoring two podiums in three ILMC races in LM P2, including a victory in Zhuhai. Jean-Karl Vernay was also seen at the 24 Hours of Spa aboard a Ferrari 458 GT3. Last year, the Frenchman won the champion title during his first season in the Porsche Matmut Carrera Cup, as well as the Matmut Young Talents Trophy. Recently, he was even awarded the Porsche Scholarship Program. With a Narac-Vernay-Bourret trio, here is the Rouen team armed to play at the forefront. So much the better, because for Christophe Bourret, the objective is clear: “Winning this world championship in our category (GTE-Am. Editor’s note). The season is long, the races are tough and the competition is there. We will be there ! »
