Adrian Newey: “The deficit comes from Renault”

“We are behind on the straights, explains Newey to the English channel. I think it will be difficult to catch up Mercedes. Our deficit comes from the Power Unit and it will not be easy to catch up in this area. We can try to improve on the chassis side, but we also depend on Renault. We know our strengths and weaknesses. We are competitive in the corners but not on the straights. »

The Briton recalls that he had already explained in the past that the domination of Red Bull would not be eternal. “I have already experienced ups and downs. This is part of the cycle F1. When we were at the top, I always maintained that we would not stay at the top forever. This is what we see today. »

Remember that Red Bull must appeal tomorrow in Paris in the flow meter affair in Australia, where Daniel Ricciardo had lost his second place.
