Adrian Sutil expects a podium

“For me, every year the goal is to do better than the year before and try to beat my best overall championship finish, which is 9th in 2011.” declares the German on the Sky Sports website. “If a podium is possible, I will try to reach it because I never got there in F1 and I really want to get it. It is the objective. I'm not sure this will happen, it will all depend on the car. Everyone is focused on our success for next year. » We remember that the former Force India driver started working very early with the Hinwill team this winter.

Sutil knows that the upcoming season will be a challenge for all teams due to the new regulations. “We don’t know how the car is going to be, that’s a very difficult question to answer at the moment. » Sutil concedes. “It’s a new season with new cars and I think the first races with all the fuel savings will be a challenge. No one knows how far you can attack. We need to find the compromise between attack and fuel economy at the right time. In the first races, it will be very difficult, some will miss each other and others will be lucky. »

Adrian Sutil will team up in 2014 with Mexican Esteban Gutiérrez. The Sauber team is expected like the rest of the peloton at the Jérez tests from January 28. Lotus F1 has already announced his absence from these tests.
