Alex Albon confirmed at Red Bull Racing in 2020

Throughout the convincing performances ofAlexander albon, CIt had become an open secret. Unsurprisingly, the Thai rookie has been confirmed alongside Max Verstappen for the 2020 season ahead of the Brazilian Grand Prix. 

Promoted to F1 at the last minute last winter on the side of Toro Rosso, one who was destined for a career in Formula e with Nissan e.dams immediately impressed and took advantage of the difficulties of Pierre Gasly in Red Bull only to find themselves bombarded in the parent stable from the summer break. 

Since then, Albon has certainly not brought down the house with a huge result but his very solid performances, particularly in racing, have allowed him to extend his lease with Milton Keynes. 

« Alex has been doing very well since his debut with the team in Belgium and his results – seven Top 6 finishes in a row – speak for themselves, commented Christian Horner, team principal of Red Bull Racing. It's very complicated to evolve at such a level of consistency. Alex is also building a reputation as a tenacious runner and fierce competitor. He fully deserves to continue the adventure with us. We are convinced that we are far from having seen the full extent of his potential and we look forward to seeing him alongside Max in 2020 ».

The confirmation of Albon alongside Verstappen is accompanied by an unchanged driver duo at Toro Rosso where Pierre Gasly and Daniil Kvyat will return.
