Alonso as a boss at Hockenheim

After winning during the last visit of the F1 at Hockenheim in 2010, Fernando Alonso wins another victory on the German circuit after starting from pole. At the end of qualifying on a wet track, the top ten drivers chose to carry out their first stints on soft tires before switching to mediums. The fight for victory took place regularly between the Asturian, Sebastian Vettel (Red Bull) and Jenson Button (McLaren). The Briton threatened the pilot Ferrari in the last relay but was finally caught by the reigning double world champion. Sebastian Vettel's maneuver was deemed illegal by the stewards and the German ultimately received a 20-second penalty, which dropped him to fifth place. Jenson Button thus recovers the second step of the podium ahead of Kimi Räikkönen (Lotus). Kamui Kobayashi (Sauber) also gained a place on the green carpet and thus signed its best performance in F1 with fourth place.

Romain Grosjean (Lotus) had a tough race. Starting in 20th place, the Frenchman only took 18th place after suffering a collision at the start of the race. Sauber achieves a good result since Sergio Perez ranks sixth behind Sebastian Vettel. Michael Schumacher (Mercedes) failed to stay in the leading group and gradually fell in the standings to cross the finish line in seventh place. Disappointment is also in store for Mark Webber (Red Bull) who finishes eighth as his place on the grid following his penalty. The Australian is now 34 points behind the leader and is only two points ahead of his teammate. Nico Hulkenberg (Force India) and Nico Rosberg complete the top ten. Jean-Eric Vergne (Toro Rosso) finished 14th, one tenth behind his teammate Daniel Ricciardo. Charles Pic (Marussia) takes 20th place. For its 100th Grand Prix, Lewis Hamilton (McLaren) was the only driver to retire after seeing his race destroyed by a puncture. The Briton, however, was faster than the leaders.
