Carrying out the “track walk” before a race weekend divides the drivers. Some cannot do without it, others are more reluctant.

back in Formula 1 after several years of absence, Fernando Alonso is one of those who does not like to go around the circuit on foot. However, since the start of the season, we have seen him regularly with his engineers during the track walk.

The double world champion thus has a ready reason!

“It’s pure superstition!” jokes Alonso. In Portimao, I did the track walk because it was a new track for me and it was the best weekend for us with points on Sunday. I stopped doing it in Spain and Monaco and the performance was catastrophic. So I started again in Baku and we finished sixth. So since then, I've been doing it systematically and we're always in the points! ".

It remains to be seen whether the Spanish driver will follow up with another points finish this weekend, as he begins to gain the upper hand over his teammate. Esteban Ocon.
