Alonso: Ferrari has made real progress

The victory of Fernando Alonso at the British GP suggested that the Team was advantaged by the limitation of blowing exhausts. But despite the removal of this ban, the Ferrari drivers showed themselves in the rhythm of Red Bull, the Asturian setting the best time of the morning and the second of the afternoon, while Felipe Massa set the fourth time of the day.

“What happened at Silverstone was not a miracle, with the exhaust regulations”, insists the Spaniard. “This result is due to the numerous changes introduced race after race. Whether in Monaco or Valencia, we had already returned to a good level of performance. »

The Asturian remains satisfied with the performance of his F150° Italia at the end of the day of free testing at the Nürburgring. “In theory, the cold doesn't really suit us. In these conditions, Red Bull had an advantage, but we adapted to the situation as best we could. The temperatures can influence our strategy in qualifying because it is not easy to set a time on the first lap. It will be even more complicated if it starts to rain. »
