Alonso: “the private ones are out of the race”

According to Fernando Alonso, the manufacturer teams are the only ones who can claim world titles. The double world champion with Renault believes that the current situation of the F1 no longer allows private structures to claim the coronations, even if the latter have distinguished themselves in recent years with Brawn in 2009 and Red Bull and between 2010 2013.

“I think the trend in F1 is that the title contenders are limited to Mercedes, Ferrari, Renault and Honda because the private teams do not have the means”, commented the pilot McLaren in As.

“With engines of this caliber, only the official teams can win the title. This is a big opportunity for Mercedes and Ferrari drivers... If Renault and McLaren-Honda improve enough, they will also have a chance to win. Private stables are out of the race », added the Asturian.
