Alonso doesn't want to make predictions

Fernando Alonso believes that it is still far too early to advance a hierarchy in the F1 peloton. For the moment, the Asturian has only observed his future single-seater in the wind tunnel.

Alonso doesn't want to make predictions

Fernando Alonso did not want to make predictions as to the future top teams of the 2012 season and was keen to emphasize that we would have to wait several races before discovering the true potential of the different single-seaters driving the peloton of the F1. The double world champion nevertheless expects to see Red Bull at the forefront, although he does not expect significant differences between the cars with the new regulations banning the use of blown diffusers.

“I don’t have a crystal ball and I can’t make predictions”, comments the pilot of the Team. “In theory it should be Red Bull but I'm only basing that on their titles won over the last two seasons. We will have to wait at least two or three races, in other words in Shanghai, to really understand the hierarchy. Perhaps some people think that winter testing is a benchmark but that is not the case. On paper we have everything to be good but I can't be pessimistic or optimistic, partly because I haven't seen the news car than in a wind tunnel. I don't think there will be a big difference with the other cars because the regulations are very precise but there will definitely be some innovations and good technical ideas. »
