Alonso shared on reducing testing

Fernando Alonso would certainly need to accumulate the kilometers behind the wheel of his Ferrari F14 T in order to return to the Mercedes and Red Bull. However, the F1 is considering reducing testing further from next year in order to reduce costs. If the loss of a session in the Grands Prix could allow the teams to make savings, it would not be without consequences for the young drivers lacking driving skills and for the preparation of the starters.

The double world champion is therefore divided on this proposal. “This is the path the discipline has been taking for several years. We are reducing testing more and more every year. There are good things and bad things”, analyzes the Asturian. “That’s a good thing about costs. Teams can save a lot of money and this will allow more teams to stay in competition. But on the other hand, it’s the only sport where you can’t train. It's not a big deal for us but for a young driver who comes from F3 or GP2, the first session is often the first opportunity. »
