Alonso wants “at least to be on the podium”

Fernando Alonso only concluded his career with Ferrari with a 9th place at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. While he feared having a difficult race following his lack of testing, the Asturian still managed to finish ahead of his teammate Kimi Räikkönen, even if the two F14Ts were in the last places in the top ten. The Asturian was not particularly moved by the end of his collaboration with the Team which lasted five seasons.

The double world champion is more focused on his future at McLaren, which should soon confirm it, where he hopes to find a car performance which will allow you to play at the forefront. “I want to at least be on the podium. I knew it would be difficult. That kind of sums up our season. I have mixed feelings about leaving Ferrari. The staff are fantastic and it was a great experience, but I'm aiming for better results than a top ten. It will be a project that will not be limited to a single year with which I hope to quickly tackle Mercedes."
