F1 technical analysis – The pin aims for the strike

The appendage which is commonly called the keel is this central part which connects the lower structure of the monohull to the most forward zone of the base. Directly located under the driver's legs, it remains legally quite free and has therefore given rise to numerous reflections on the part of the engineers since the start of the season.

This is an element with a very strong aerodynamic influence, whose development is closely linked to that of the flat bottom transformed by thee new regulations (Picture 1). In addition to distributing the air from side to side
