Renault will it supply its V6 turbo hybrid engines to a team other thanAlpine en Formula 1 ? After announcing that his son, Michael, had all the resources necessary to ask the FIA for the introduction of his own team in 2024, Mario Andretti said a little more about Andretti Autosport's plans. The 1 F1978 world champion even confirmed the identity of the engine manufacturer who would have given formal agreement to join the American adventure: Renault.

« We are not new kids, confided Mario Andretti to David Land. We know the required prerequisites (…). A lot of work has already been done. We already know where our UK facility will be based. We have a formal agreement with our engine manufacturer. It will be Renault and I can tell you that now.«

Since 2020 and the end of its agreement with McLaren, Renault only supplies the team Alpine in engines. On their side, Mercedes team 4 teams (Mercedes, McLaren, Aston Martin et Williams), Ferrari 3 (Ferrari, Alfa Romeo et Haas) while Red Bull Powertrains supplies Honda-made engines to Red Bull and Alpha Tauri.
