Calls for tenders launched by the FIA for standardized rims and brakes

After the internal components for a single gearbox, the FIA is accelerating on the file of the standardization of certain parts in F1.

Latest areas concerned: brakes and rims with two calls for tenders launched by the international federation a few days ago. In terms of brakes, pads, discs, calipers, master cylinder and the famous brake-by-wire system are targeted. The rims must, for their part, move to 18″ format, with 60 sets supplied per season, and a lifespan of more than 10 km.

The period desired by the FIA should run between 2021 and 2024, with the possibility of adding the 2025 campaign to the contract. Interested candidates must submit their applications before May 22, with the FIA decision expected on June 14.
