Arrivabene: Vettel has the shoulders for the job

Scuderia Ferrari is at the heart of a profound restructuring which has seen many important figures from Maranello leave the ship. The replacement of Fernando Alonso by Sebastian Vettel is certainly the most notable change on a sporting level for the Prancing Horse who did not manage to win the title with the Asturian.

If the quadruple world champion had a difficult last season with Red Bull Racing, Scuderia Team Principal Maurizio Arrivabene was fully confident in the German's potential. « Sebastian has the shoulders for the work that awaits him », declared the Italian during the last Ferrari press conference held in Fiorano (Italy). “He gets along very well with Kimi (Räikkönen). It's a positive thing, but I hope they don't get along so well on track because the rule remains that the teammate is the main opponent. »

Maurizio Arrivabene will also have important responsibilities sincehe succeeds Stefano Domenicali and Marco Mattiacci at a time when Scuderia Ferrari is in full reconstruction. But the task does not seem to impress Maranello's new director. “I bring with me the experience acquired in my previous company (Philip Morris). I know how to motivate staff and get their full potential. I saw that there was a strong desire to make things happen and I am here to provide my confidence and to reframe the structure. We're not going anywhere individually. We must work as a team. »
