Aston Martin title sponsor of Red Bull in 2018

Red Bull has confirmed that its partnership with Aston Martin would strengthen in 2018. The team will be renamed “Aston Martin Red Bull Racing " next year. The two entities have been linked for a year and a half through several projects.

The British manufacturer is already a sponsor of the Red Bull with the logo appearing on the sides of the bodies. The two structures are also working together on the creation of the Aston Martin Valkyrie hypercar, with technical director Adrian Newey notably involved in the project.

Red Bull also announced the creation of the Advanced Performance Center in Milton Keynes (Great Britain) where 110 Aston Martin engineering and design staff will work alongside Red Bull Advanced Technologies to carry out future projects. who will succeed the Aston Martin Valkyrie.

“Having conceived and designed the superb Aston Martin Valkyrie project in 2016, we have increased our relationship this year and we are proud to strengthen our partnership and see the team racing under the name Aston Martin Red Bull Racing in 2018", comments Red Bull Racing Team Principal Christian Horner.

While Renault is expected to end its partnership with Red Bull Racing at the end of 2018 after letting go Toro Rosso (which will welcome Honda next year), the Red Bull could consider an engine manufacturer partnership with the British brand in the coming years, with the regulations expected to evolve in 2021.

“This partnership is the logical next step,” adds Andy Palmer, president of Aston Martin. We appreciate what this offers F1 reinvigorated. Discussions about Power Units interest us, but only if the conditions are correct. We are not going to start an engine war without having restrictions on costs or dyno hours, but we believe the FIA can create the right environment to attract us. »
