Bernie Ecclestone wants to cause rain

His ideas for restoring intensity to races:
“I repeat, reward with medals rather than points. Drivers want to win and they don't race for second, third or fourth place. Let's find a system where winning comes first. Last season it would have worked well. Hag et Alonso would have each finished the season with five gold medals and the same number of silver and bronze medals. Vettel would have won the title because he had more fourth places. I call it a thriller! »

Artificial rain?
“Watch the races. Overtaking has become impossible because in the dry, there is only one trajectory to achieve maximum speed. It's different when it rains, and the races are much more interesting. In this case, let's make it rain. Some circuits are equipped with artificial sprinklers. Let's develop this system on other routes. Why wouldn't it start raining in the middle of the race? For 20 minutes or during the last ten laps? We could warn the competitors two minutes in advance. Suspense would be guaranteed and it would be the same for everyone. »

Sebastian Vettel?s recent criticism of the radical changes to the regulations, and in particular the movable rear wing, supposedly implemented to satisfy the television audience:
"He's probably right." It is difficult for commissioners to control them because their window of use is reduced. The risk of protests exists. In my opinion this system is dangerous. What will happen if the driver did not manage to lower it before the turn, therefore benefiting from less downforce? This can easily cause an incident. We need to watch this carefully”
