Valtteri Bottas set the best time of the morning at the Barcelona F1 test at the Circuit de Catalunya.

Bottas leads Barcelona test

Two days after lost the victory facing his teammate Lewis Hamilton at the Spanish GP, Valtteri Bottas (Mercedes) established the reference time in the morning for the tests F1 played in Barcelona. The Finn completed a lap of the Catalunya circuit in 1'16''625, 1''2 off the time which allowed him to take pole last Saturday, using C3 tires.

Charles Leclerc (Ferrari) was the closest with almost 8 tenths behind, signing his best performance with the C1 tires, the hardest in the Pirelli range. Carlos Sainz Jr. (McLaren) completed the top three with 2 hundredths ahead of Pierre Gasly (Red Bull), the most diligent on the track with 77 laps covered.

Sebastian Vettel (Ferrari) ranked 5th on the car reserved for tire testing ahead of Daniil Kvyat (Toro Rosso) and Pietro Fittipaldi (Haas). Sergio Pérez (Racing Point) followed in 8th place ahead Nico Hulkenberg (Renault). Nick Yelloly (Racing Point) completed the Top 10 ahead of Callum Ilott (Alfa Romeo). Nicholas latifi (Williams) finished last in the ranking with 4”4 behind the reference.
