Bottas: no need to put pressure on yourself after Melbourne

Having made a mistake in Q3 in Melbourne, the Finn had to start from 15th row and was forced into a waiting race in the peloton. Bottas, whose current contract with the Silver Arrows expires at the end of the season, ultimately finished eighth, far from a Hamilton very efficient all weekend.

Asked at a press conference to find out if the Sakhir meeting was the first turning point in his season, the former driver Williams swept away doubts with the placidity that characterizes him.

« It's a normal competition weekend, said Bottas. Sometimes you have bad races but there is always a Grand Prix to bounce back from. Obviously, you always want to do well and respond, but I don't see the point in putting pressure on yourself after making a mistake in qualifying.

Everything was analyzed in Australia. We have 20 races left this season so there is no point in worrying about it at the moment. The car performs well even if there is still room for improvement. It was just a misstep and I can't wait to get back on track. »

The first free practice session for the Bahrain Grand Prix starts at 14 p.m. local time.
