Bottas: Vettel is 'next target'

Valtteri Bottas was not in the rhythm of his teammate Lewis Hamilton at the Singapore GP, but the Finn still managed to take the last step of the podium.

Si Mercedes is now 102 points ahead of the Team Ferrari following the double retirement of Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Räikkönen in the first turn accident, the Mercedes driver also reduced the gap that separated him from the former Championship leader who now only has a 23-unit lead over the second Mercedes driver.

“There are still many races (six) left this season and many opportunities. Sebastian is clearly the next target”, warned Valtteri Bottas who has two victories this season compared to four for the Ferrari driver.

“This race went really well for us today. We limited the damage because we were lucky, recognized Valtteri Bottas. I must admit that the car performed better than expected. I was waiting for opportunities. I struggled with the grooved tires, but my pace in the dry was pretty good. »

Valtteri Bottas was recently extended at Mercedes for the 2018 season. The Finn is firmly in third place, 50 points ahead of Daniel Ricciardo (Red Bull), second at the Singapore GP.
