Jenson Button does not understand the reason for the lack of performance of McLaren MP4-29 in the rain. While his teammate Kevin Magnussen will only start from 15th place, the 2009 world champion, renowned for being among the best when the conditions are wet, had to settle for 12th position between the Ferrari by Kimi Räikkönen and the Toro Rosso of Daniil Kvyat after suffering from a lack of grip preventing him from fighting for a place in Q3 which he had nevertheless managed to secure during the first three races.
“I can’t get the front tires to work in slow corners. They just wiggle and we can't get them up to temperature. Traction is also hard to come by so I’m hoping for dry weather tomorrow.”, explained the McLaren driver on Sky Sports. “We will see what we can do, but the race will be difficult tomorrow because the track will still be dirty. All drivers will suffer from graining. »
The start of the Chinese Grand Prix will be given tomorrow at 9 a.m. French time. Photos of the tests can be found on this link.
