Button wants more efficient F1 cars

As Jenson Button continues his preparation work for the 2016 season with McLaren-Honda in Barcelona (Spain), the 2009 world champion is closely following the discussions around the future regulations of the F1.

The Briton believes that current single-seaters are not fast enough compared to other disciplines. “I’d like more noise, real noise. I liked the V10 and V8 but it’s not really that with the V6.”, admitted the McLaren driver on Sky Sports. “I would also like to benefit from better mechanical grip with the tires. We all like the phenomenon of degradation, it adds spice to the races, but the general level of grip of these cars is not at all up to par. »

Jenson Button compares the performance of current F1 cars with cars from lower disciplines. “There should be a gap between these disciplines and F1. We should be seven, eight or even ten seconds faster than any other car. Mechanical grip can be found with aerodynamics, but especially with the flat bottom, because you can no longer follow the cars if you work on the wings. In any case, I hope there will be change next year.", added the former world champion.
