Carlos Sainz Jr: Constantly improving

On the track this Sunday at the wheel of one of the two single-seaters powered by the V6 turbo / hybrid Renault, the Spanish Carlos Sainz Jr was able to complete 46 laps, and prove to be the most diligent of the Losange clan, the Australian Daniel Ricciardo having covered only 35 laps, after encountering small problems on his RB11. Problems which also did not completely spare the STR10, immobilized at the side of the track at the end of the afternoon and causing the second and final interruption of the day in Spain.

“We can take a lot of positives from this day, our first runs with the STR10, even though we rode on a filming day earlier, explains the 20-year-old pilot. We worked well and managed to complete a reasonable number of laps. This gave us a lot of data to look at tonight to help prepare the car for tomorrow when Max takes over. I felt good in the car today, I was constantly improving, lap after lap. We've made some adjustments and I think we have a good starting point. »

The Dutch Max Verstappen will be on track tomorrow, for the second day of testing in Jerez. Photos of the STR10, presented yesterday, can be consulted here. Photos from the day can be viewed here.
