Caterham asks for public help to be in Abu Dhabi

Caterham F1 Team has launched a crowdfunding project with a view to being part of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix on November 23 during the last round of the Championship. If certain structures like Brabham have adopted this method, it is a first in the premier single-seater discipline.

The Leafield team are looking to raise £2,35 million (€3 million) within a week and are offering different rewards based on donations received, from a T-shirt to a VIP seat in the stands and more. by single-seater elements… “We hope this will only be the first step in returning to ride permanently with a new owner. This team deserves a future and I am sure that the public and many companies agree.", commented Finbarr O'Connell, the administrator of Caterham Sports. »

If this attempt may seem desperate, the concordance with the announcement of the Marussia F1 Team filing for bankruptcy adds to the trouble. The presence of Caterham F1 Team at the last Grand Prix would allow it to gain a position in the Championship, synonymous with more substantial income, but nothing would guarantee that it would continue the competition next year.

La dedicated web page allows access to the results displayed in real time as well as the list of rewards.
