Caterham rode for Pirelli

With 63 laps this morning, running Pirelli's experimental tires, Caterham's day had started rather well. But Robin Frijns, who was officiating in the CT05, was unable to take part in the afternoon session, a hydraulic system leak having been detected on his car. " I'm happy to have completed 63 laps this morning, but it's obviously a shame not to have continued in the afternoon, especially since I felt good in the car and was having fun. When we finished the last run before lunch, we found a hydraulic system leak. The guys had to dismantle the bottom plate and the gearbox. But the time to get the car back together was too long, so we stopped so we could prepare for the second day. »

“There's not much I can say about the tires we had today, explains the Dutchman. These are obviously development tires and, because it was a Pirelli test today, we weren't aware of the type of compounds we were putting on.. » The Italian manufacturer, however, declared that it had tested two new types of tires this Tuesday.
