Chandhok will replace Trulli at the Nürburgring

Karun Chandhok's last Grand Prix was at the British GP in 2010 with the HRT team. The Indian, who this season holds the position of test driver within Team Lotus, will compete this weekend in his first Grand Prix of the year at the wheel of Jarno Trulli's T128.

“I want to thank Tony Fernandes for giving me the chance to fight for Team Lotus”, comments Karun Chandhok. “Since I joined this team, I have always waited for this opportunity. I am determined to do my best and I want to help the team progress this season and the next few to come. »

Tony Fernandes, the president of Team Lotus, made it clear that he retained all his confidence in Jarno Trulli, with whom the extension of the contract was currently in negotiations. “Trulli has been very accommodating in staying back for this race and our commitment to him is unwavering. I am happy to confirm that we are in negotiations to extend his contract with us. »
