Charles Leclerc unfortunate hero at his Monaco Grand Prix

Many Monegasque eyes were turned towards Alfa Romeo Clean F1 Team this Sunday and towards the hero of the Principality Charles Leclerc. The champion F2 title, author of a good qualification by reaching Q2, however did not cross the finish line, after an accident in the last laps following a brake problem (disk).

At the exit of the tunnel, when braking in the fastest zone of the route, Leclerc was unable to slow down sufficiently and collided with the rear of the car. Toro Rosso de Brendon Hartley. An end full of disappointment for the Sauber driver who had managed to string together two races in the points in Baku and Barcelona.

“It’s a shame that this is happening to me, but that’s how it is, comments Leclerc at the microphone of Canal +. I think the first stint was very positive, unfortunately, Brendon (Hartley) passed during the pit-stopAfter he blocked us and Pierre (gasly) came out in front of the whole group.

Then, the team did not realize that there could be a potential brake problem in the final laps. Four laps before the crash, I said on the radio that my brake pedal was starting to get really long. It was difficult to manage.

Last year in Formula 2, I should have had a good result and it didn't go the way we wanted. It’s motorsport, and I hope we have a better race in Canada. »
