Charles Leclerc thinks 'brake problems won't happen again' at Saudi Grand Prix

Charles Leclerc hopes not to be faced with brake problems again in Jeddah.

« We were completely stationary the whole race. We had a problem with the brakes, it didn't brake on the right and a lot on the left, so I had to drive with a brake distribution that was completely stupid (sic). I am very disappointed. » At the end of the Bahrain Grand Prix, Charles Leclerc didn't mince his words at the microphone of Canal+ after his frustrating fourth place.

So, in order not to relive this situation, engineers and mechanics of Ferrari worked before the free practice sessions in Jeddah, which take place this Thursday, to try to once again avoid this mysterious brake problem that no one saw coming internally.

“I hope we can resolve” brake problems

“We didn’t have that problem. (during testing, Editor’s note) like I had in the race. We've never had it before. And that obviously cost a lot in terms of times, especially in the first half of the race, where it was extremely difficult to drive,” Charles Leclerc reported this Wednesday at a press conference before the start of the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.

So, “We are focusing on the brake problems we encountered in the race. We've been working on them and I hope we can resolve them. But we feel ready. We will see " if it was resolved, once on the track, declared the driver who finished second in the race in 2022. And added, with confidence: “I don’t expect it to happen again this weekend”.

Before boarding his SF-24, Charles Leclerc is optimistic for the Grand Prix: “I don't feel like we can really show our true potential, I'm really looking forward to this weekend where hopefully we can put it all together and hopefully be closer to Max (Verstappen) compared to what we showed in Bahrain. »
