It is a scourge which Charles Leclerc is unfortunately not the first to be a victim in Formula 1. On this Easter Monday, the Monegasque was in fact stolen his Richard Mille watch estimated at 300 euros, from the brand of the Swiss watchmaker which has been one of Leclerc's most important supporters since its beginnings in karting.

The scene took place this Monday around 22 p.m., in the town of Viareggio in Tuscany. Present with friends and his trainer Andrea Ferrari, Leclerc was first spotted by fans in the port area. The leader of the world championship took the opportunity to respond favorably to the requests, he who is particularly appreciated in Italy.

The street plunged into darkness

Except that while he was taking these photos, an extremely cunning thief slipped into the group and stole his watch without being noticed. The street was dark at the time of the attack. On her Instagram account, Andrea Ferrari, from the area, called out the city of Viareggio. “Via Salvatori has been in the dark for months. We have been reporting this for several months. Last night we were robbed in Via Salvatori. Do you intend to repair the street lights quickly? I'm asking for a friend..." he finally quipped.

This is not the first time that a pilot has had a valuable watch stolen. Last year, it was the British Lando Norris who had his Richard Mille ripped off his wrist while attending a Euro 2020 match at Wembley.
