Overall stable turnover for F1 between 2017 and 2018

When posting its 2018 financial statement, specific to the F1, Liberty Medium will not be able to count on a spectacular increase in its turnover. The American entity indeed presented stable annual results in terms of its turnover (1 billion 487 million dollars between 2018 compared to 1 billion 483 million dollars in 2017).

The last quarter of 2018 also saw a loss in turnover ($351 million in 2018 compared to $447 million over the last three months of 2017), mainly due to the organization of a Grand Prix in less between the two periods.

“Revenue from pure race promotion increased slightly, mainly due to the contractual increase in promotion fees, comments Liberty Media.

Race revenues in 2018 were affected by the variation in the calendar, with the non-holding of the Malaysian Grand Prix in 2018 not being fully offset by the return of two European races in France and Germany.

F1's other revenues increased in the fourth quarter as well as for 2018, mainly due to higher revenues from logistics, digital media and television production, various fan activities and higher sales. of spare parts for the support series F2 and GP3. »

Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization, however, were down year-on-year, from $438 million to $400 million, due to Liberty Media's continued investments, and costs linked in part to transportation and parts supplied to F2 and the GP3 Series, or even the development of digital media.
