A few days before the start of the 2024 season Formula 1, an internal investigation was opened by Red Bull against Christian Horner, the main director of the Austrian team. According to the Dutch media De Telegraaf, the British manager, at the head of the team since its debut in F1 in 2005, would be the target of serious allegations made by an employee of the Red Bull team.
“After becoming aware of certain recent allegations, the company [Red Bull] launched an independent investigation, explained the Austrian team in a press release shared by the Dutch media. This process, which is already underway, is led by an external specialist lawyer. The company takes these matters very seriously and the investigation will be completed as soon as possible. It would not be appropriate to make any further comments at this stage. »
The nature of his allegations has not been specified, nor the stage of the internal investigation. According to De Telegraaf, Christian Horner allegedly behaved inappropriately towards a member of the Red Bull Racing team. The boss of Red Bull's motorsport division, Oliver Mintzlaff, would also be aware of these accusations and would take this matter very seriously. Christian Horner would deny what he is accused of.
