Christijan Albers insists on performance

The Caterham team has experienced a real upheaval this year, following the buyout by investors advised by the Romanian Colin Kolles. For their part, the drivers have not changed, with the Swede Marcus Ericsson and the Japanese Kamui Kobayashi. The team's new Team Principal, former Dutch driver Christijan Albers, recalled the conditions for racing in the CT05.

“As long as they’re performing well, they’ll stay behind the wheel. » explains the Dutchman to GPUpdate.net. The team is also banking on the future with the Dutchman Robin Frijns, already reserve driver, and the creation of a Development Program where the Frenchman Nathanaël Berthon and the Italian Kevin Giovesi have been recruited. For the moment, Albers prefers to give young people time to get used to the F1, notably Frijns.

“Of course I no longer have feelings for a Dutch driver. Let's just say that Robin can still improve in several ways. I haven't seen enough of him in the car to say more about him. We will see what the future holds. »

Caterham, like the entire F1 field, is taking advantage of the summer break before returning to the circuits from August 24 in Belgium at Spa-Francorchamps.
