Gasly crashes in EL2 at Hockenheim

The second test session was marked by the exit of the track of Pierre Gasly (Red Bull). With 18 minutes to go before the checkered flag, the Frenchman lost control of his RB15 in the final corner and hit the tire wall. The pilot appears unharmed, unlike his car.

 

 

The Ferrari kept the orders. It's this time Charles Leclerc who set the reference time in 1'13''449 with a tenth ahead of his teammate Sebastian Vettel in mind this morning. THE Mercedes are closest to Lewis Hamilton 3rd, a few thousandths behind the second SF90 which is ahead of its teammate Valtteri Bottas of half a second.

Max Verstappen (Red Bull) completes the Top 5 ahead Romain Grosjean (Haas) who had a loss of engine power at the end of the session but who seemed more comfortable on the first version of the VF19 against his teammate Kevin Magnussen only 18th.

Lance stroll (Racing Point) finished in 7th place ahead of Kimi Räikkönen (Alfa Romeo) and Nico Hulkenberg (Renault) whose session was disrupted by mechanical problems. Sergio Pérez (Racing Point) completes the Top 10. McLaren are further behind. Carlos Sainz Jr is 11th while Lando Norris is 16th behind Daniil Kvyat (Toro Rosso), Daniel Ricciardo (Renault), Alexander albon (Toro Rosso) and Pierre Gasly.

 

 

The final practice session will be held this Saturday at noon while qualifying will follow at 15 p.m. The weather forecast predicts a chance of rain. The sessions will be broadcast live on Canal+ Sport.
