La F1 has just announced that the cryptocurrency platform: Crypto.com, will sponsor the new sprint races, the first of which is planned for the British Grand Prix. As a reminder, drivers will have to complete a 100 km race on Saturday afternoon, in order to decide the starting grid for the main race on Sunday.

“We are delighted to welcome Crypto.com to the F1 family, says Stefano Domenicali. Our objective is to continue to become an attractive brand by seeking performance and innovation.”

All this is with the aim of gradually moving towards a zero carbon rate by 2030 for F1. Indeed, Crypto.com announced last May the ambition to become carbon neutral within the next 18 months.

“We are very proud to be the first cryptocurrency sponsor of F1, enthuses Kris Marszalek, co-founder of Crypto.com. We are thus joining brands supporting sport, technology and innovation. We look forward to starting the collaboration which will extend for several years. From the Belgian Grand Prix, we will present a new trophy. »

The sprint races will begin with the British Grand Prix on July 18. 3 points will be awarded to the winner.
