Cyril Abiteboul joins Caterham F1 Team as CEO

Cyril Abiteboul will join Caterham F1 Team as new CEO to support Riad Asmat, CEO of the Caterham Group, and Tony Fernandes, president and owner of the British brand. The man of Viruses-Châtillon will retain his position at Losange until January 2013, also working within the Malaysian team. “The multi-cultural character of the group and the F1 activities projects made my choice obvious after eleven superb years spent with Renault. I can never thank them enough for everything I learned there. »

Jean-François Caubet, director of Renault Sport F1, is disappointed to part ways with Cyril Abiteboul even if the latter will continue to work with the Losange, Caterham F1 being a client team of Viry-Châtillon. “While we are sad to see Cyril leave Renault Sport F1, we are excited about this tremendous opportunity for his career. We are also delighted to see our partner teams progress and he will perfectly fulfill the objectives that will be asked of him in his new role. Cyril will complete current projects, which will ensure a smooth transition. »
