The four-time world champion will move ahead on the starting grid Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) as well as his teammate Charles Leclerc (Ferrari). All eyes will be on the second row, with the unexpected presence of Daniel Ricciardo's Renault in fourth row, in front Pierre Gasly (Red Bull) and a shy Valtteri Bottas (Mercedes).

Originally credited with the ninth beat, Carlos Sainz Jr. (McLaren) will have to start from 11th row due toa three-place penalty for blocking Alexander Albon during Q1. 

This helps greatly Max Verstappen (Red Bull). Victim of a strategic error on the part of his team, the Dutchman moved for free from 11th to ninth position on the starting grid, while being able to freely choose his tires for the start.

Author of a spectacular crash in the last chicane of the circuit, Kevin Magnussen is forced to start from the pit lane. The Dane had nevertheless obtained his place in Q3, but his single-seater required a change of chassis and gearbox.

Antonio Giovinazzi (Alfa Romeo) achieves his best qualification in F1 with 12th place. Romain Grosjean (Haas) could not do better than 14th.
